OK, I've turned into a twitter addict....(honestly, when I first saw it I thought it was just a lame status update thing, but honestly, now I get more news/info/links/etc.. from twitter than just about any other source)

Anybody else on JC on twitter?

I am... Same username. I am kinda still on the "lame status update thing" set of mind right now...

I am going to create a lame profile picture update thing and make big bucks!

I seriously have no idea how people get so addicted to facebook/twitter.

I am a Twitter prostitute (the w word is banned.) APC has a Twitter that they update with industry news and rumor.

Twitter is actually a really great source for news links. I'm a "follower" of the CBS affiliate in MSN, NBC in ORD, and the ABC & NBC stations here in IND. There's a lot of organizations to "follow" where you can get some really pertinent info from.

Brent Spiner's (the actor who played Data on Star Trek TNG) tweets are so funny.

And yes, I refrain from stupid tweets/FB updates like "I'm sitting on my porch".... there's usually a bit more substance to them than that... :D

We are exploring different methods of social networking at work and it was suggested that I twitter for work. I'm cool with Facebooking for work, but not so sure about Twitter.

I'm on Facebook and Twitter, too.

It's gotten so common over here, the company tossed out a new policy to scare people into refraining from running down the company on social networking sites. Wonder if I'll get into trouble for Twittering about the daily CFs around here. Things like scheduling booking me on a DH that left on April 23rd, 2010 and insisting it was a computer glitch that changed the flight number instead of something they did wrong.

Twitter is a technology. How you use it is the question.

For example, I read an article a couple of months ago in which a professional conference (I forget the profession) used Twitter to expand the live discussion. On-site participants tweeted things being discussed. Off-site participants tweeted their comments back. The conference had a screen set up connected to the discussion. The reported results were pretty positive.

If you can find some use for the technology that makes sense, it's probably a good thing. If you're going to be stuck with the "porch" type junk...
