TSA says "Just Kidding"

Bloody. Amazing.

The TSA continues to prove what a stand up group of people they are.

The TSA is a bigger threat to air travel and aviation than terrorism. Get these freaking jokes out of our airports!!!

I think indicting the entire agency is akin to having a rogue flight attendant pour water on a passenger and saying "American Waterboards Passengers!" :)

I agree. But I also hope the girl in this story lawyers up and sues the pants off of everyone involved. This sort of thing unnacceptable the TSA needs to be taught that lesson the hard way.

Well maybe. But we all know how incapable TSA is and this just proves the stereotype that these people really might actually be retarded.

Flight attendants do a great job of service in most cases... TSA does a terrible job of providing any kind of security, now they're even failing at security theater.

YES!!! The allusion of security that the TSA provides is absurd. The fact that this sort of thing doesn't spark an outcry among the traveling public is just as much our fault as the TSA is useless. And this clown was an instructor!!!

I say it was a kick ass practical joke that was improperly executed. Common, put this in a different perspective.

You and a group of your college buddies are going on spring break and one of you is friends with the TSA guy checking the bags. Imagine the look on your buddies face when you pull something like this.

People need to lighten up.

This wasn't his buddy. This was a random passenger who was scared that she was going to be in a heap of trouble.

BIG difference.

I did, and I'm now reading your last sentence which makes me believe that you think this was an acceptable thing for this TSA agent to do.

Just a general comment. People make it sound like the guy should have his fingernails ripped off and be stoned to death. It was a joke, admittedly poorly executed, but a joke non the less. A person suffered 20 seconds of stress, by god if that is the worst wrongful thing that happens in any of our lives I would take it.

In this day age, that is unacceptable behavior from "professionals" who are supposed to be doing a serious job of protecting our traveling public. As to how effective they are is another debate.

That TSA employee should be tarred and feathered.

If I was on post, gate guard, auxillarily security forces, armory guard, et when I was in the Marine Corps, and I pointed my weapon at a suspected threat and said "just kidding," and waved them through, do yocu know how much I would be in? I imagine that would be a court martial offense, or a VERY heavy Article 15 at the very least.

I find it hard to believe that anyone with an even casual understanding of air travel really believes this. Everyone knows that doing this type of thing at an airport is not a joke. I'd say he executed this non-joke perfectly. They seem to know who did it - lawyer up and have fun.

Kinda like meeting Jack at the airport....

It was a terrible practical joke. The trick with practical jokes is for them to be a joke it has to be in the right setting.

You have a group of smurfed out idiots with metal badges and "plant" something on someone. There is no way that would be funny by any means.

I already have just slightly above 0 respect for them already...and for someone to go and show even more of a lack of professionalism is obviously totally unacceptable. Imagine me rolling a 757 upside down and going over the PA saying "we're allgoing to die!! LOL JK!" That is the equivalent of the same thing. Awesome prank, Farva... right?

I would have been undyingly pissed had this happened to me.

The end result is the same: the guy lost his job as he should have.

3 weeks ago my fiancee had a late 2300 flight @ DFW and the male TSA employee messed with her telling her she couldn't enter because there weren't any flights left.
She practically broke down, and called me after, as I navigated the "fun" little maze they have set up to exit the place.

Same "just kidding" attitude in this case. Its not a **** place to kid around.

TSA needs to revamp their since of customer service. Totally disgusting.

Joking about impending death and performing a seriously dangerous maneuver is the same?

You guys don't have to agree, I don't expect you to. Everyones butt-holes are way to tense to possibly chance agreeing with what I said. That's is ok though, I got a laugh out of it. Honestly had it been me I would have shook his hand and said "you got me good man." That would have been the end of it.

As for the other comment on pointing a gun, again impending death. Comparing possibly being shot to a bag of baby powder, common now.
