TSA Bull!

I am sick of it, really sick of it. We need to find a forum to try and change the practices of the TSA!

I think, if we want something changed we as citizens and professions have to do it and start the ball rolling. We must start our own initiative.
I am really serious about this, who here on JC would like to start one?

What are your thoughts?

Is there a story behind this or did you just feel like venting today?

Going through TSA a few weeks ago, they asked me to take my non-crew airline badge out of its protector so that he could hold it up to the light, see both sides, probably sniff it, too. Curious, I asked the guy, "Have there been problems with people using fake employee badges to try to comandeer airliners lately?"

Any Wackenhut mall security guard could figure out that it's just awful policy to consider all 7 billion people in the world an equal threat.

Am I the only one that feels like the whole "TSA is completely incompetent" thing is a little overplayed here? It seems like every other day we have a thread highlighting their latest blunder.

You're not the only that feels this way. That is why we have to try and make a change.

So you see a thread every other day and you think the theme that the TSA is completely incompetent is overplayed? Is it possible that we aren't "overplaying" and they are, in fact, incompetent?

:yeahthat:

I think that we as a community need to move on to other topics. This TSA thing has been beaten to a pulp so many times.

Perhaps the "thing" hasn't been beaten to a pulp and their exploits will continue to be documented.

I don't doubt their incompetence. I'm just saying we discuss it ad nauseam in this forum.

I'm still really new here, so I don't have the experience with the "beaten to a pulp" theme here, but I know that I could add at least a couple of threads on my experiences with them and a couple more on my thoughts about them.

My experience with the TSA makes me want to get a Masters in something related to transportation security, and go into it in an attempt to become a voice of reason and common sense....
