Tropic Air Pilot Program

I wasn't in the industry when pay2fly programs like Gulfstream existed here in the US. Looks like they still exist, this place in Belize charges pilots 5k a month to sit right seat in a Caravan, sounds like a complete rip off.

I'm guessing this is the way to build time for European pilots that aren't in Ab-Initio programs. Hopefully not too many Americans are doing this.

With today's hiring climate in the USA, it seems like lunacy for an American to pay for something like this, but then the prices are all in U.S. Dollars...and someone was asking on here whether it would be a good idea to pay to work for Eagle Jet recently.

It wouldn't surprise me if most of their pilots are European though. Sadly it is my understanding that PFT/ PFJ is still the norm in most of Europe. We are very fortunate right now with the pilot hiring environment in the U.S.

A few months ago I would have let you pay me $5k/month to fly right seat in a Citation!!
