Training in Nashua NH right now

Hi all,
I am new to this forum and just want to say hello to all guys here. Let's talk a bit about myself. I am 29 and single. I am now working towards my PPL in Nashua NH in a part time basis. I have a 9-5 job in Boston so I am only able to fly at weekends, so my progress is nowhere near fast, but I am sure I will get it done sooner or later. Very probably I will go further to get all licenses like Comm/CFI/CFII/MEI, of course I know it may take years if I do it in part time basis. I may consider a career change at later stage as I know I don't want to work in office for my whole life! Though I know the pay for flying is horribly low. I don't have enough cash right now so I can't give up my current job and do training full time. But if I could save enough money later I may quit my job and have full time training in the south like Florida/Texas/Arizona (is it cheaper?). Just want to know more guys who are in a similar situation like me and/or in the nearby area, we can share some ideas and our experiences!

stay single, don't have kids and you can do whatever you want. That's how I see it. I'm 33, instrument rated, workin towards commercial, maybe get my cfi's and move on from there. Or maybe stay with my current employer and instruct part-time.
 
Save money for flight training and life after flight training. Getting your certifications and ratings is the easy part. You can pretty much get it anywhere if you have money. Having money to do it, and live it, that's the hard part. I would definitely advise you to save money. It's what makes airplanes fly regardless of what the engineers would have you believe. :)
 
I got my private at Keyflite in Nashua. The place has since closed down. Too bad - it was a really good school. The airport itself is a great place to learn to fly because it is fairly busy (with all the "websters") and the practice areas are really close by.

It's kinda cool to look down and see it now when I go into Manchester. I don't miss the cold though!

So you work in Boston? That's gotta be a killer commute!
 
Yeah I agree...I need to save money starting right now! The most expense of mine is renting apartment, $1000 per month! I probably need to find a cheaper place and get some roommates.

Fortunately I live and work in North Boston so traffic is not bad, only 20 miles away from the Nashua airport.

I am doing it at east coast club right now, I like it so far. But I haven't tried another school so I really can't compare.

If your job pays you enough to live and fly, then I'd stay in your job to keep the cash flow for flight training- it depends on how long it you want it to take to get your ratings. For me it took 8 years to go from student to multi-engine to a regional airline pilot.

I started flying up in New England great place to learn. I flew in to New Bedford every now and then on business.
 
Yeah that's what I plan to do. I am not hurrying to get all the ratings, though I don't want to do it too slow as well. I start loving flying more and more. Not sure whether I will make pilot my career or not, but the learning process is really enjoyable. It worths the effort (and money!) I have to put in.
