I was planning to go to Vegas and meet everyone, but I found out today that my 75/76 class starts on 26 Sep and goes until 28 Oct. Hate missing the fun, I guess I will be having fun of a different sort! Thanks for everyone's support during this furlough period.

Doug, does this mean I will have to change my username?

Off furlough onto the 75/76. Nice move. Congrats.

Hey, I never said I wasn't lucky! I just hope I can stay there more than 3 mo.

Glad you're going back to work. Congratulations! I was furloughed for just over a year. It's no fun. What did you do during the furlough?

Congrats!

I'm assuming that you were on the 88/90 before your furlough. Did you bid the 75/76 after the the initial call back, or is it up to the company what equiptment is assigned after a furlough?

Sold cars for a (very short) while, got a job as a gov contactor on mission planning computer systems. Still doing that right now in fact, I will have to quit before training starts.

Yep, got recalled, sat unassigned for a while hoping to be able to go straight back to the MD88 on a bid, then shot for the moon and bid for a 767 FO position. If I hadn't bid for anything, I eventually would have been assigned to either a 737-200 or possibly the MD-88. I was just as suprised as anyone that I got the 767 bid.

Tell them they have to wait, you have a get-together to attend.

Ha! I wish it worked that way, We had to reschedule our honeymoon when I got recalled!

Bent over backwards to work with the company with the recall & my wedding/honeymoon, only to get tossed to the street again 6 months later......

Please Amber, don't make predictions. I'd really like to be recalled for more than 6 mo.

You and me both.

Bad Amber, *slaps self on wrist* , for the unintended jinx (don't worry, it's not a prediction, that was just my own bad luck), I'll toss some salt over my elbow or something.

What would happen if they recalled you now, with one baby at home and another one on the way? Would you be able to take some maternity leave?

These are the quality of life issues that I'd like to learn about.

Nah, I couldn't accept a recall right now anyway. I don't have access to 24/7 child care. There'd be no way I could do overnights. What happens if we're delayed, cancelled, wx issues, commuting, or junior manning......

If offered recall right now I would be forced to resign. I am really liking being home full-time and raising my littles one(s)! I just resent my time off having been shoved down my throat with no choice. 7 years of service meant squat, and the teaser 6 month recall only made it worse.

But I'm not bitter.......

That's just the way the cards fell for me, I guess (especially with the TWA purchase). Nothin' I can do about it! I've made the best of both of my 'time offs', and that's really what you have to do. If you don't roll with the puches, you get rolled over!

Its a good thing you didnt get the 737-200. From a friend over in training he told me that is next aircraft to be phased out. It will probably happen by the end of the year. Where will you fit on the 76/75 list as far as senority or do you know yet

I'll be way way down at the bottom of the 75/76 list. Reserve forever!!

Did Delta have a flowback-style agreement with their connection carriers when the furloughs post-9/11 occurred?

I know Continental did. Well, they had a flowthrough agreement for COEX pilots to go up into Continental, and post 9/11, the same pilots weren't happy over being displaced by flowback.
