Howdy.
Hi everyone, long-time listener, first-time caller....
This is one of my first posts to the forum, although I check JC almost twice a day. I honestly don't think I have found any other source that has given me so much useful, real-world information as this site has.
That being said, hats off to Doug and all of the other regulars who make this such an informative and educational place to visit. I haven't been in a plane in over a year, but I still feel like a member of the aviation community whevever I just 'browse.'
Right now, I am stuck in a bit of a rut. I graduated college a year ago, and have a decent full-time job. Like most of us here, I want to follow my dream and pursue a career in aviation...but I have yet to take the plunge. Money is the main issue right now, and I know I'm probably going to have to take out a pretty good loan to help make this happen.
And that's about it. I'd like more than anything to start flying again, but I don't want to drag it out for too long. I did that with my private license, and it took me over a year. I think the best way to make it happen is to try to knock it all out as quickly as possible at a local FBO and try to scrape by.
Is anyone else in this boat?
Any words of encouragement or pearls of wisdom out there?
