Tinnitus

Over the past few days I have been having this annoying ringing in my ears. My right ear though is the worst, as it is almost like morse code kind of ringing. I spend a good deal on the Internet researching this and I guess it is called Tinnitus and a lot of people suffer from this.

My question is, are there any home remedies or anything I can do? Most answers I found were "you just have to live with it". I am not exposed to any loud airplane noise and I have limited the use of my earplugs for my phone. Not sure if I might have some ear infection or nerve damage. I just had a medical about 3 months ago, but nothing came up. Can't go to the Doc right now. No insurance.

Reduce or eliminate caffeine. Eliminate any chocolate. And, for you and for everyone, protect your hearing in every way possible.

I agree, I'll live with the Tinnitus before I give up coffee ;)

I saw an ear doctor about my Tinnitus. Mine is the same in both ears, and the conclusion is that it was caused by noise exposure, possibly from blowing leaves or using the chainsaw in the fall. They ran a bunch of tests to make sure it wasn't anemia or some other condition. They tested my hearing. My PCP cleaned all the wax out of my ears, which can be a cause. If you have it in one ear but not the other that could be a more serious problem that needs to be checked.

Mine gets worse when I'm fatigued. I found this homeopathic ($20, yikes) stuff at RiteAid that I've been taking, but it says it could take 4-6 weeks to see results. I haven't noticed any significant improvement yet, but it's only been a week.
