Tibet Airlines A319 takeoff accident/fire

Didn't see any crew members at the end of the slide helping and directing the pax.............saw one of the pax pushing with his hand, the person in front of him while they were both on the slide, a few jumping off the side of the slide while they were still a few feet off the ground and of course the inevitable moron with his roll aboard in hand.

At least this pax rescued her shopping bag. lol

Fire engines arrived pretty quickly.

Saw this online from The Civil Aviation Authority of China:

"According to a crew member, the plane experienced an anomaly during takeoff, then the crew implemented rejected take off procedures. After running off the runway, the engine scraped the ground and caught fire."

And then another brief:

"According to the Aviation Herald, 113 passengers and nine crew were on board when the aircraft began its takeoff roll. It accelerated down the runway, but veered off to the left, crossed a taxiway, crossed another taxiway and lost both its engines and landing gear before sliding to a stop on soft ground.

Moments later, a fire broke out on the left side of the aircraft. Amazingly, all 113 passengers and nine crew were safely evacuated, although the aircraft is clearly damaged beyond repair."

From some guys twitter account:

"P1 is yet to be verified, but it seems like burnt debris of an engine and MLG. P2 shows the plane and tire marks".

For the most part pax did a pretty good job of not bringing bags it looks like (that shopping bag aside)

What are the two things with tripod legs that one fireman to the right-side of the picture appears to be operating?

Could very well be a thermal imager, though I haven’t seen one on a tripod….they’re usually hand held and with a shoulder sling. Could also be a regular camera for documentation purposes, as the emergency is mostly over at this point.

Watching the response and suppression, that airport has a heck of a lot of crash trucks, that’s for sure. Puts many US airports with air carrier service, to shame.
