Well said, Amber. You guys have my sympathy ... hope you get through this OK.
ONCE AGAIN, for those that slept through class the first seventeen times, LABOR IS NOT KILLING THE AIRLINES! Every one of the Big Six would be turning a profit today if the cost of fuel were what it was ONE YEAR AGO. That's right, even United mired in Chapter 11. Even Delta, who everybody is convinced is going Chapter 11. Even US Airways, not only in Chapter 11 but given up for dead by just about everybody.
Stratospheric fuel costs, incompetent management, and a total lack of pricing power are to blame for the current state of the industry. Sodomizing your employees with a nine-foot broomstick is NOT the way to solve the problem.
[/ QUOTE ] that's right! that's why you've GOT TO put your VOTE where it counts! if not where we are today because of decisions made yesterday, this wouldn't be happening....
and yea.. it's NOT pleasant or humorous to find out that everyone else is "hunky dory" with this situation (with all the airline troubles)...even if we complain to our friends (just to vent or whatever), they'll still come back with "well, you still make more than we do, what's the big deal?".. BAH!
edit: oh and ditto what John said...you pay an arm and a leg to get to the position of workin in a major.. you expect to be paid back plus some while your working for that major...then because of economy issues (or mgmt issues?), over 1/3 of the rug pulls out from underneath you and yet your current president says "our economy is going up, we're improving jobs, moral.. blah blah blah"...ugh.. i'll take it over to arguepolitics.com cuz i just know our current economic situation along with managements mis-management is the root of all the airlines problems whether USAir, AA or DAL!
