Thinking about renting a houseboat...

before the end of summer. My wife and I would like to invite friends and family along. I'm concerned about having young kids on the water. Has anyone had experience with a houseboat? I'm thinking about one that can sleep 12 people relatively comfortaby.

Out east, Dale Hollow Lake and Norris Lake are two that I've done recently. Lake Cumberland last I heard was still not doing boats with the lake being low. Out west Lake Powell and Lake Mead and others but I haven't done one out there. Cheaper out east, probably 2500-3000 for the week on an 70-80' boat off peak. Sleeps 14 with six bedrooms (couch pulls out in living room). On Dale Hollow look up Sunset Marina and from there look at other marinas, it might help with what direction you are coming from which marina you select.
