Some "Rendezvous" BBQ and a Redbirds AAA baseball game.

Woo!

Good stuff Doug! MEM is always one of my favorite stops. Gotta get it on the CHQ route map so I can get back for some good ribs.

Oh man, the Rendezvous ribs were kickbutt!

And it was the Redbirds verus the ABQ "Isotopes". Fantastic pitching and A+ fielding. It was 0/0/0 up until like the 6th inning and the Redbirds knocked one out of the park with a runner on 2nd.

But then I had to go.

Minor leauge baseball is the best. I just bought a 20-game pack of tickets to the Rancho Cucamonaga Quakes, the Angels A level team. Those guys are tons of fun to watch, they give 100% every night.

I used to be a batboy for the Memphis Chicks about 15 years ago. How did you like the Redbird's stadium? I haven't gotten a chance to see it, but my parents said it rocks.

And to all you MO people who THINK you're BBQ is better.... Rendevous is the best.

Man you were in Memphis today thats where im from too bad i wasn't in town and the new stadium is awesome great looking ball park but then again I was glad I wasn't in MEM today because I flew from MQY-TCL-DTS-TCL-MQY which is smyrna, tn to tuscaloosa, al to destin and back 7 hours total because we took our time so I could build hours but too bad I wasnt back home glad you liked it uuhh sorry for almost hijacking the thread lol

I'll be back in Memphis in late July/early August for a few months. Moving back in with the parentals to save some $$$. No sense in signing another lease in FL if I don't plan on being here past December. Downside is I have to leave my job at SWA unless they decide to open a station in Memphis.

sucks about no SWA but free rent right is always a plus
Im moving into a house back up here at school in the end of july but Im doing my multi over the summer back home at OLV

My parent's live in Olive Branch, so I know exactly where that is. I thought about just getting my multi comm at Douglas Aviation or AirVenture, but it's so EXPENSIVE there. I'm leaning towards Ari-Ben right now. Get the rating plus some extra time building hours.

Don't get me started on them again.....

The Rendezvous has the best ribs that I've ever tasted. I've had a lot of MEM overnights lately.

There is also a good place for beignets in the Hampton Inn between the Rendezvous and Beale St.

NO Thank you Memphis!

Geez, second layover and the place is BEIRUT because of the fireworks and CANNONS down at the ballpark across the street.

Not too consistent with a 0345 pickup. I guess neither is free wireless internet access in all the rooms either

oy vey.

Re: NO Thank you Memphis!

I got my private and instrument at Douglas aviation and they do rip you a new one on renting thier planes but I really liked my instructor. But to me it seemed like douglas has the best rental planes in MEM area to me but I dunno and also need to do my multi back home cause no one around the nashville area it seems rents a multi but like one person and he wants more for his seminole than doug wants for his seneca.

Re: NO Thank you Memphis!

I was looking for other places in MEM to get multi, and it looks like Douglas and AirVenture are about it. There could be some free lance CFIs I don't know about, though.

Re: NO Thank you Memphis!

My friend is an MEI and can instruct in Douglas' seneca after he has 50hrs given so he is doing my initial multi when he gets the hours so should be early summer? could talk to him if you would like.
