TFR's Now FR's?

I talked to a flight briefer and she said that TFRs are now referred to as FR's? When did this happen and how did I miss it?

I would guess that its just easier to say flight restrictions instead of temporary.

I believe the TFR's around the DC have become permanent by a final ruling in December of 08. I also believe the ruling goes into effect month.

There wasn't a alot said on this but I believe I read it in a copy of Flying Magazine.

The only thing I am aware of is the ADIZ around Washington D.C. has become permanent. Can't say I recall TFRs now being called FRs. I could be wrong though.

Yeah, I got the briefing on that yesterday, pretty silly if you ask me.

But nobody asks me.

TFRs still exist. But, the ones made perm are not so temporary anymore hence the removal of the "T".

Such as "W's" place down in Dallas. I imagine it will be there as long as he is.
