Position Description


In Flight Operations BT&E, this position is a part of the Vertical Lift organization, this management position will act as the Chief Pilot CH-47. Responsibilities could include: Operates aircraft and manages test pilots; also could manage first-level managers performing aircrew duties, including activities to prepare for and conduct safe test flight operations; applies crew resource management principles to the operation of aircraft. Performs and manages activities to plan, conduct and evaluate ground and test flights. Leads aircrew activities to support design efforts. Develops and executes integrated departmental plans, policies and procedures and provides input on departmental business and technical strategies, goals, objectives. Acquires resources for department activities, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements. Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports. Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes. Manages, develops, trains and evaluates test pilots; and possibly first-level managers. Job requires FAA ATP or Commercial certificate with the appropriate endorsements.

Basic Qualifications For Consideration

This position requires a minimum of a commercial pilots license, current physical, full currency and qualification in the CH-47 F and G, and the individual must be a graduate of an accredited test pilot school or possess a waiver in accordance with DCMAI 8210.1. This position requires irregular work schedules & shifts. Must be able to travel in support of the statement of work.
