Crashed into a house,all occupants of the house were able to evacuate


They checked in with the tower right wound the 17:30 mark

I flew this model aircraft and there was a big problem with torque roll. The aircraft has a lot of power and a fairly big prop for it's size. We demoed it at altitude by configuring for landing flying at final approach speed and adding full power. Eye opening. Very similar to what would happen with the F-4U Corsair.

Go arounds were recommended with very slow power addition as the aircraft would climb just fine at 50-60% power at lower altitudes. Lots of smoking craters 1/4 mile left of final with this aircraft.

I really like the thing, but an abrupt power input is gonna have you doing, well, yeah.

It was a quite common upset pattern.

not sure if anyone has seen the ring door-cam footage of the accident (I see it in the link, now), but it nose-dived into the house.
 
I'm not about to get google maps out and overlay the final approach but I'm guessing the impact site is about 1/4 left of final.
