Tampa Bay Jobs!

Does anyone know of any companies that are based in Tampa Bay, and is not Gulfstream because they only hire if you pay for it. I would like to stay in the Bay area after I finish my Commercial, and was just wondering. I know pilot who commute but they are flying for the majors. I already know about Gulfstream, and Capeair, but the mins are high and the other you have to pay for the job. Thanks!

Gulfstream does accept pilot resumes for those not looking to enter their PFT program. Someone told me awhile back that they were getting desperate for FOs - hiring people from the PFT program that they might otherwise send packing. I don't know if this is just for street captains, but if you had the hours, it might not be a bad idea to try - it's a consideration in my mind after I build some time, just because the Tampa base would be great.

Flight Express or Southern Air Systems. But those are 135 companies and the former doesn't have fancy airplanes with pretty computer screens.

Also, the latter (SAS) pays worse than FXE, from my understanding, to fly those pretty jets and turboprops.

Well, I know what a guy was making at FLX before he left for SAS (because I took his route) and rumot has it that Southern Air pays about 8 grand less for the first year. I couldn't live on the Southern Air pay, and I live pretty cheap. Some of the runs in the company pay 43,500 as disclosed on the front page of the FLX website.

Stone Cold is correct. I believe they pay their SIC's around $18K.

I updated my resume there twice a month before I got my job at Eagle, but at that time, they were not hiring. They are hiring great guns now, so your chances are pretty good.

However, knowing SEVERAL folks who have flown for them, the results are not favorable. QOL isn't very good from what I understand.
