He got caught in the wires... DUH!

I think that happened a few years ago didn't it? somewhere in florida?

Hahahahaha. . . that’s quite obvious there, Christie, lol. I was thinking more along the lines of, what the pilot was thinking. Like what Chrisesp alluded to, “I bet I can make it underneath those powerlines and scare that little doggy.”

I was talking to my great uncle, and my regular uncle about flying. And they told me that they heard that if your engine dies you're supposed to aim it for some powerlines because they'll catch you...uhh...thanks, but no thanks. Especially here in North Dakota I prefer to glide it into a field :-)

Haha...actually that's a real picture of a Cessna 152 that a guy used to commute from Everett or Tacoma (I can't remember which) WA to Boeing Field in Seattle. The centerline of the runway is approximately 5000 feet from where the plane hit the lines and it was "rumored" that he caught wake turbulence off of (get this) the horizontal stabilizer of a new 777 that was there for testing/paint. The FBO where I got my private was right across the airport from where he was tangled up and I watched the power crews pull the airplane off the lines while I preflighted. Pretty cool stuff. The pilot got really lucky that airplane hooked up the way it did. The only thing holding it up was the brake disk.

It all comes down to three things you never want to hear from a pilot:

"Oops"
"Uh-oh"
and
"Watch This!"
