The International Fixed Wing T-6 Instructor Pilot (IP) will provide the full gamut of academic, simulator and in-flight instruction and training to Iraq Air Force (IqAF) student pilots and IP trainees in the Hawker Beech T-6A aircraft and associated training devices. These aircraft are used to instruct Primary Pilot Training (PPT) and Pilot Instructor Training (PIT). Candidate will be a subject matter expert for all related instruction to fixed wingT-6A PPT students and PIT pilots.

The selected candidate for this position will perform instruction duties outside the United States (OCONUS), at Imam Ali Airbase, Iraq or other locations to be determined.

  • PPT and PIT duties will consist of basic aviation ground school, ICAO regulations and host-nation air traffic control and airspace structure instruction. Performs academic instruction in a classroom environment, to ICAO & USAF standards, in support of IqAF Fixed Wing Training Program according to IqAF-approved syllabus. Classroom academic instruction includes multiple aviation-related topics, to include hands-on instruction using a Basic Aviation Training Device (similar to Cockpit Procedural Trainer) and Flight Training Device (FTD). Will also provide curriculum development support when necessary for maintenance of contracted syllabi.
  • Candidate will be military aviation role model to all IqAF student pilots and IP trainees, expected to provide “mentorship” to IqAF students and instructor candidates in all aspects of fixed wing instruction and military officership.
  • Performs advanced ground school, simulator and flight instruction in the selected operational aircraft and flight training device, using IqAF-approved syllabus and within the operational constraints of the host-nation.
  • In IP training courses will train rated pilots in Pilot Instructor Training (PIT) through military fundamentals of instruction and PIT curriculum / courseware to attain IP certification.
  • Participates in i3 and IqAF instructor and Continuation Training meetings and other forums mandated by the on-site i3 management team.
  • Supports company recruiting and retention initiatives necessary to maintain the highest quality employees supporting this contract.
  • Supports business development initiatives if and when required by company management.
  • Performs any and all on-site tasks necessary at Tikrit location for a safe, secure, and professional operation.
