First ‘homemade’ Swiss business jet approved for take off
  • US and European authorities have given the green light to the Pilatus PC-24, the first business jet wholly assembled in Switzerland. The company plans to deliver 23 planes in 2018.
  • Branded as a “Super Versatile Jet” by Pilatus, the PC-24 – which can carry 11 passengers and one pilot – has a short take-off distance (856 metres or 2,810 feet) and can use unpaved runways. It comes with a cargo door as standard and can reach speeds of 440 knots (815 km/h) with a range of 3,275km (2,035 miles).

My dream plane. Load up the kids, dog, a dirbike and fly non-stop to visit the grandparents in Wyoming with my wife in the co-pilots seat ... oh my oh my. I need to figure out how to make a LOT more money

For me it’s right behind a Super Cub and 185. I was day dreaming about running one as a charter around AK.

I'm with you, been buying a lottery ticket once in a while ever since I heard about this thing. Only downer, I'm calculating about .72 mmo at 350. I can't find a published Mmo anywhere, you?
Don't know if I'd plunk my lottery winnings down for a jet that slow. Ugh. I could of dealt with a few hundred more feet on takeoff and landing for a few more hundredths of a Mach...
I've got just enough time in the Dork Jet going .62 max forward and too much time in the Lear going .80 to stare at the miles going by doing .72. :-(

Damn, try doing cross country in a King Air at 275-290 KTAS. I dream of one day not getting deep vein thrombosis every flight.

How bout Oklahoma to Madrid? I did some transcon in King Airs too. Great airplanes, many of the trips I do in the Lear belong to a King Air. You'd probably make the same time IAD to TEB. But they do a different job for a lot less money than the PC 24. I'm mostly just being funny, and if it turns out to be .72, that's not as horrible as I'm making it out to be.
I guess if I'm gonna spend my power ball money on a turbo jet instead of a Pilatus or a King Air, I'll take something really fast over the utility. So, I'm thinking, a nice used citation X for skiing the Alps and Aspen, and a Pilatus for camping in the Ozarks. Glad I worked all that out...

It’s all about that cargo door man. Once you’ve experienced it, it’s impossible to go back.

FWIW type spec says 290/0.74 V/MMO.

Ty, I never found it in their site. I took what I found in TAS and converted it on a standard day.
I guess I'd be hard pressed to complain about a jet doing .735 when it has a cargo door that can be loaded at a 3000' grass strip...
