Summerland Hike

Went on a 9 mile hike yesterday up to the Summerland Camp near Mount Rainier...this hike offered up many photographic opportunities. Anyone wants to come out to SEA and hike it, I'm game.

Old growth forest to start to the trail...it was about 51f when I started the hike:

The dew on the leaves pictures is amazing. I wish the focal point was on the horney marmont.

Was this shot on the prime?

24-105L...I thought I got him instead of the flowers between us, but he startled me coming out from the tree, plus he was quick...it was just try to get the lens on him and shoot.

These are really outstanding! I love the photo with the brook especially and the photo of the little deer. But they are all very good. I'll have to peruse the rest on flicker.

Great pics... I really do need to figure out all these great spots and get the family out for a hike.

Maybe one day there will be a weekend that I'm not working. o_O

Colchuck Lake. It was a relaxing weekend of hiking, accordion festival and an embarrassing round of golf.

I did Colchuck Lake last Sept...it's an impressive lake, and one I'd like to do when it's not 55 and raining off/on.

Don't go hiking on a weekend out here...unless you like hiking with the rest of Seattle:bang:

Join the WTA (Washington Trails Association), it's a great resource for finding hikes :)

Yeah we only hike on weekdays. It's nearly impossible to do a nice peaceful hike on a weekend. Love the WTA we use them to find our new hikes.
