Suing the FAA...

Some have been made aware that their medical is apparently under question because of the AME they use in FL.

I fail to see how this is the individual's issue... The FAA seems to think every airman is at fault for picking this AME.

Given the exposure, is anyone aware of a lawsuit in the works...?

I'm gonna guess that most of the people going to this guy did so for a reason.

A mechanic examiner in my area was terminated years ago and it led to hundreds of re-exams of mechanics. There isn't anything you can do about it.

Maybe, use a little caution in who folks pick as their examiner? From the stories on here it’s pretty evident the dude was pencil whipping.

That's a stretch.
As mentioned in the other post, when I went there the dude was quick, but went through the required motions.
That, however, was some years ago. I think my last medical with him was like 2015/16.
He was smack in the middle of Spruce Creek, across the taxiway from the local restaurant. I've taken students there because 1. It requires a brief on the airspace to get in and out without busting DABs class C, 2. It's a cool place, you get to see stuff other than 172s, 3. The BLT at the restaurant is pretty good, so two birds with one stone kind of a deal.
Again, my first hand account is a few years old, but it wasn't like the doc was running a back alley ops in a middle of nowhere with people driving in in trench coats, shades and hats.

Wasn't aware there was a recert need for AMEs, like a medical 709. Interesting mention of Spruce Creek.

Can you just go get a new medical? I don't know why you would waste time and money on a lawsuit when you can go spend $160 and get a new one.

Do that, and then Sue that doctor for taking your money and not doing his job. That would be fair, to me.

So, what you're saying is, it wasn't like a Scheble issued pilot certificate circa 2009??

$65 for a 1st in Orlando. He can be goofy, and absolutely hates it if you try to sneak something by him. He will throw you out of the office immediately. In fact he wrote a book through Amazon on all the BS people have tried to pull on him over the years.
