Study Plan

I just finished my first week of training (2 weeks OJT before classroom). I want to stay ahead of things. What would you recommend in terms of studying. I want to get a good grasp of the software before classroom just so I can apply what I learn there accordingly but Chinese seems like a native language to me compared to the multiple software programs used in a typical day of dispatching......in other words, what did you wish you focused on before your comp check?

I oriignally misread this topic title as "Studly Plan." At any rate, it sounds like you're on the right track for classroom success...as others have mentioned, I would work on getting the FAA Written done ASAP when class starts so you don't have to worry about it. Other than that, I would concentrate on weather. Flight planning should all be covered in the class and can vary a bit depending upon what software the course uses.

I wouldn't really get to twisted up around the prop about not understanding what you are seeing with the tools. Just be sure you are tuned in during class and ask the questions you need to have answered. All will begin to make sense.

I am currently in the same boat, learning several different and new-to-me software programs and it's just going to take time and use. I personally wouldn't learn from studying on how to use them...I'm a hands on learner. So my advice is to put that on the back burner until you're back on the desk in training and focus on class now. :-)

@womanpilot73 hasn't seen this much German on American action since....God knows when. (ok, maybe Pitch Perfect 2).

Hi Ho, Silver!

We pull upon the risers
We fall upon the grass
We never land upon our feet
We always hit our ass
Hide tidee, Christ almighty
Who the hell are we?
Zim zam, goddamn!
We're Pilsener Infantry!

What do you drink when going deep into the bush? Gotta stay hydrated.

Did they involve large black helicopters, or is that just what @McCrosky sees after a night of serious drinking, and ends up singing "Suicide in Painless?"

Why they gotta be black?

And FYI I'm always serious when drinking. dispatchinf not so much. You gotta have priorities
