I had a bad grit experience in Daytona Beach many years ago and haven't made a second attempt.

For good grits, you have to go to a Southern restaurant. Florida is not the South, it's North Puerto Rico.

Stop teasing me. I'll be back in the land of good 'ole home cookin' in a few weeks. My dad's garden is starting to churn out tons of good eatin'. It's impossible to find good fried okra in Florida. The only place I've seen that offers it so far is Cracker Barrel.

At the Williams home, you can have fried squash, fried okra, hashbrown casserole, chicken and dumplins...all of your favorite artery-hardening foods, cook with lots of love (and beer - can't get that at the Cracker Barrel).

Read that to my wife, and she entered "warm liquid goo phase." You hit all of her favorite foods in one sentence.

Lloyd you kitchen sounds reminds me of my grandmothers house. Back then she cooked 3 meals a day for my grandfather. I love my grits with lots of butter..Do you know how to tell if a yankee is eating grits?.....they put sugar in them. Nothing like good ole home grown veggies picked that day and cook and a fryer full of freshly caught Brim or bass
