Right now on Fox a stealth fighter is going to shoot down Air Force 1 and the fighter escorts on some show.

I was trapped into watching Walker:Texas Ranger today. Both pilots of the King Air they were in were incapacitated, and Walker decided to fly it. The trick is there was a P-51 shooting at them. It managed to tear up the elevator, swiss cheese the fuselage, and knock holes in the tip tanks AND the wing tanks. Oh yeah, the plane kept flying until a stray bullet hit the engine cowling. THEN smoke started pouring out and the plane went in the water......in a dive.....oh, and it DIDN'T break apart.

Yeah, I saw that too...MikeD, was that you? I swear, every time I see a pic of a Stealth Fighter, I'm almost positive I can make you out in the canopy, despite the visor and O2 mask! You fly all the airshow demos too, don't you? And the stadium flyovers?

(Doug, is that about how it goes?

I have never seen MikeD, I will know it is him, when instead of an O2 mask I see a Romeo Y Juiletta, and a foot on the panel!!

One guy at the airshow asked where the "UFO technology" is kept, and what it's used for.

I told him it's in the "Executive Decision" bay.

One thing about airshows.......the shear number of hotties present, many U of A coeds.........

Busy day between the photo ops and the autograph signing.

The Stealth has an airshow aura to it. The public loves the jet, with it being restricted, roped off, and under guard. Both myself and the other pilot present got everything from invitations to coed parties that night, to photo ops with various females and kids (some theirs, some not). A number of requests for autographs. One that would've made Doug laugh his ass off, was one girl that wanted a pic next to me, asks "Are all the pilots they select for this plane as good looking as you two?" Guess she must be around some ugly guys in her normal day or workplace. And "The Air Force has got to select only the most sophisticated and disciplined pilots to fly this plane." Little does she know....

Here's a funny on:, got asked on one date after one girl found out I was from AZ. In fact, she'd gone to the sister high school of mine...........albeit class of 2000......

Nice MikeD - I am sure you informed them that infact the F117 as the prize of the Air Force, looks is definately a major factor when selecting pilots.

So when is your date!?!?!

I would quite like your autograph - if it came with your credit card!!!

In one Walker Texas Ranger episode, he lands a 747 all by himself. I think it was in Paris, because his girlfriend (that Assistand District Attorney, or whatever) was with him, and afterward landing, they go have some "fun" in Paris.

And about that show, "24." I think Muslims are already portrayed bad enough without any more propoganda, and 24's Keifer Sutherland has actually done a public announcement where he supports all American loving muslims who live here. Or something like that. Anyway, I believe that might have also been the reason as to why they've introduced "white non-muslim" terrorists in the plot.

I am hopelessly addicted to FOX's 24.But last night episode though gripping was laughable at best.
First of all the Stealth Fighter shows up as invisible on radar but the missles it fires do not.
I.E. the F-15's flying cover for Air Force One radar would have been alerted to the incoming missle barrage.
Secondly I'm pretty sure that the military and secret service have a prepared a scenario for an event much like we witnessed last night.
Futhermore I'm positive that AF1 has electronic countermeasures. Be it chaff or flares or anything else top secret should it be fired upon by a missle or something simliar.
The previews of next weeks episode show AF1 crashed and burning in peices
Lastly an I'm not saying that it can't pretty sure that it can but I have never read about the F-117 caring missiles.
As it's primary role according to the public is that of a bomber.

Good...........that's what we want you all to think........

........lest we have to pay a "personal" visit to you later...........

I'm pretty sure you and the movie Air Force One are correct on that one. However, I doubt if it can be confirmed without causing a threat to national security and all that stuff....

If watching the Discovery Channel and History Channel serves me correctly, I believe the weapons bay in the F-117 will handle both bombs and missiles. A lot of bombs are more or less laser guided missiles now anyway. Long way from the concrete encased explosives dropped by B-17s. MikeD could probably tell us, but then he'd have to kill us.

F-117 is AIM-9 Sidewinder capable.

I have several muslim friends here at college. You can learn a lot about Islam that way. There are far too many misconceptions out there.

One should really try and get to know the religion before just coming up with a biased opinion on it. I don't mean you, I mean "one should" as in anyone out there.

Well, I didn't mean to stray from the original topic. Back to the stealth fighter firing AIM 9s...

Anyone remember a MAC/PC game in the mid '90s called TFX ? (Tactical Fighting Experiment) ???

You had the choice of Euro Jet (forget it's exact name), a F22, and a F117.

I do recall you could arm it with AIM missiles, but those sucked in the game, because their range was only about 10 miles in the air. Just a game though, so it was fun!
