State of the Eagle Address Video

Cleaver, got Neighbor to read it for him.

Highly doubt it he'll get the boot for speaking the truth.

Remember FA's video against mgmt, and video of pilot union supporting rival. Also 1 video making fun of AA's Exec Pad in London....

No bueno trend if u ask me. But hey, just another fish in the bucket of folks who've had enough.

I just can not understand something.

The pilots pay is less than 3% of the gross revenue the airline takes in. If they didn't pay pilots, at all, then the most the airline could possibly save is less than 3%. I'm just not clear on why airline management keeps targeting that 3%. There is simply no benefit for the airline or the pilots. All it does is get everyone ticked off on both sides of the table.

Meanwhile fuel cost is 35% of the gross revenue of the airline. Seems to me if you can figure out a way to save some money on fuel, you would have a much better shot at cutting costs.

If I were king of the airlines, I would spend my efforts working on cutting the largest expenses--not the smallest ones. You get better results that way.

Yup. When I'm parked right away instead of idling for 35 min and burning a ton of gas I'll believe they're trying to cut costs. When as soon as we park we get power and air, I'll believe they are trying to cut costs.

The most frightening thing about this whole industry, and not just the minor leagues, is that no matter how established or historically successful your airline is, you never know what the next CEO/fiscal year/merger is going to do to your job.

But knowing that the top brass get to float away in a golden parachute no matter how bad (or how many times) they mess up, fills me with violent and irrational anger. Still blows my mind how much of the labor in this industry identifies as politically conservative. But that's a whole nother thread.

Listen you, there is no place for common sense in this industry. Show yourself the door please.

Apple needs a proofread function!

:D
Perhaps one that works before it changes what you wrote after you hit send! So frustrating; but it's great that you all knew what I intended to say! I have corrected this four times so far! We will see what is delivered!

I'm sure a happy 3% could help with a expensive 35% percent.

Your anger may be violent. I doubt it's irrational. The self-misidentification part... that's irrational.
