I'm a CFII/MEI. I would like to ask the users out there which pilot training media do you think is effective? Do you perfer Sporty's Private pilot/ Instrument or Jeppesen Private Pilot/ Instrument DVD's

I've used the Cessna CBI for the private and then the Jep for my intrument and commercial writtens. Given a choice, I would take Jep just because its easier to stay sane listening to.

I've seen both and didn't notice much of a difference. They're both pretty good. Of course, to add more confusion to the decision, don't forget about the videos from King Schools, which are usually good.

I have my students watch the Sporty's videos. I watched the Kings when I was training. Of the 2 I like the Sportys much better. They're more like ground school and not just prep for the written. They have a lot more informaiton in them.

Truethfully... you don't need written prep videos. The Gleim book has all the questions and answers so if the only reason for getting videos is to prep for the written then they're just a waste of money... imo. But, if you want videos that really help with ground school then I like the Sporty's ones.

I've also heard the Cessna ground school videos are very good as well.
