Spirit - "Oil On Our Beaches" ad

I'm not offended by it, but I did find it a bit tacky. I think it's a bit too early to make light of a situation when so many are unable to pay their bills and feed their families as a result.

Would be like "Visit LA - nobody flies planes into our skyscrapers!"

Personally, I think it is funny, but the I am sure there are "touchy" people that are sure to not like it.

I have to admit I see the humor in it, from a dark side of things.

That said, it's almost like Spirit management is trying to say, "yeah, we look like s, but at least we're not BP!" They're scrambling so hard to get the spotlight off the strike that they went somewhere that maybe they shouldn't have.

Sidenote: Further proof that a strike will jack you up when the pilots are unified and the cause is just. Hopefully Spirit management will think twice before they mess with their pilots in the future.

I dont find it offensive, i think they could have done better though. Maybe incorporate check out our "slick" deals.

I wonder what other LCCs (heck, even 'regular' mainline carriers) in this country think of this ad campaign. I'd venture to say they share my sentiments. Too soon, Spirit, waaaaay too soon.

I can't imagine it's going to change anyone's current perception of Spirit. The ones who are into tacky crap are going to think it's wonderful, showing it to all of their other friends around the table at Hooters. The rest will either shake their heads and move on... or do whatever it is that other people do.
