Spirit jumpseat

So question to anyone who has jumpseated on spirit. How many bags are you allowed and do they charge you for your bags? I feel like I need to clarify and state that this is a legitimate question...I'm asking because I might have to fly with them to South America next month.

They don't charge jumpseaters for carry on bags. It would be your standard one bag plus one personal item that you can carry on I believe.

I know that ID90/interline riders get one carry-on and one checked bag free, so I would assume the same extends to jumpseaters. I can ask around here and get a more definite answer for you, but I know flight crews for other airlines jumpseat on us to commute and they don't get charged.

I jumped with them a few years ago and don't recall anyone asking me to whip out my credit card. The CSA was busy trying to explain to some poor sod that he would either have to cough up an extra $100 or his immense bag that had zero chance of fitting anywhere above the wing would remain in Chicago, so I wasn't sure if I just got the nod because she didn't want to deal with me or that was SOP. I cannot speak to attempting to check a bag as I didn't.
