Spirit Airlines?

I see they plan to double in size in the next 2 years or so. Anyone work there or know someone who does that has the scoop on the company?

Not 100% sure but I heard from a Riddle grad that they (Spirit) was hiring very low hour ERAU grads if they could pass their hiring and some pre-training training that they had. I mean as low as 270 hours from what I heard. Again, this is just from a 3rd party.

From someone I know who works there:

Chief Pilot, Director of Training, everyone has said they are looking for pilots flying at the regionals. Specifically they are looking for guys/gals with a thousand or so hours flying an RJ. Does not have to be PIC.
I gave it thought but it's too much of a gamble for me, at least for the time being. As for doubling their fleet? Maybe yes maybe no.

Not a horrible place to work from what I've heard, but it's not as stable as some other places. They do plan to grow quite a bit, but nothing is certain. Seems to be a good choice for someone that wants to live in South Florida. As for the low time pilots, that's not just rumor, that's a fact. They took about 20 guys from Riddle as a test to see how they could handle it. I haven't heard how it's gone so far.

Well, since the source sounds to be true, he said he went and interviewed with about 15 ERAU guys. He didn't get hired but 8 others did at the time.

Well, if they r hiring guys w/time like that, I hope they have upgrade mins. It seems like a place to look into though.

That is exactly true, I know of someone on here who works there, doesn't come around alot though.

I'd say it's gotta be way more stable than any regional, and great if you want to live in Florida or Michigan.

A good friend of mine who is an FO with 2000TT at CHQ talked to his old flight instructor who is involved with hiring at Spirit and that guy said they were hiring anyone over 2000TT with previous 121, no degree required and no PIC required, my friend is putting in his app tomorrow. They said there were getting a bunch of new A321s
