Spin video to celebrate spring break

Dude, you need to put that FAR down and relax!

I am glad I posted what I posted and asked a question about an exeption to that rule. I got the answer I was looking for and that's really all that matters. BTW, thanks for telling me what I need, I certainly was lost without your guidance.

Easy bud, just giving ya a little ribbin' ;)

This FAR is kinda silly though. What would be more dangerous? Doing spins with another CFI, perhaps spinning too long, and then recovering at about 2000' AGL, or trying to jump ship with a parachute on out of a C-152? I'll take my chances in recovering the airplane as opposed to trying to claw my way out of that little aerobat (probably hitting the horizontal stab on my way out).

Something's got to be illegal about all this spinning activity. Otherwise, why hide the pilot and the passenger's name in the credits at the end? ;)

You bothered to watch the credits? Thanks!

I don't know why, but I'm paranoid about throwing my name and location all over the internet. I can't even think of anything bad happening if I did...but it still feels weird. I like being semi-anonymous.

Oh, and for the last time, it was not a passenger, it was a student! :)

Incipient spin only....let it go to a developed spin if you're going to film it....10-12 rotations will unport enough fuel to kill the engine and allow the prop to windmill....then just step on the rotation and stop the spin and recover! LOL

*I am not responsible for anyone that decides to go be a test pilot to prove this to themselves, and said individuals hereby release me and JetCareers.com from any legal action if you make a smokin' hole in the ground because you followed this advice and lost spatial orientation and took out Farmer Ted's herd of cattle in a field somewhere.....

I wish....

What you see is as good as we can get in that plane. After two or three rotations it always turns into a spiral dive. I think if we held it in a spiral dive for another 10 turns we'd come close to ripping the wings off from either too much airspeed or too many G's.

Might make for a good film though! ;)

I also went for my first spin flight last week on spring break. LOVED IT SO MUCH, then I have footage of a bunch of acro moves, I think I will take that course since it is that much fun!

The pilot was a Wild Weasel @ Vietnam

in CANADA we do spin training in the PPL but not on the flight test, but for the CPL, candidate must enter and recover from it!!

I don't see why the FAA makes a big deal about it...

and UNLIKE you Americans, who have all the questions that will be asked on the written exam, we are not given the questions on the written exams!

haha it doesn't make all that much sense giving us the questions i know.

but you guys don't have to do chandelles, lazy 8's, or eights on pylon's for your commercial right?

nope

That's correct we don't, but in reality those are very straight forward... nothing like spinning :) hehe

Just ask any tomahawk pilot how safe spins are lol...

I did a 30 turn spin in a Glider. It got wound up so tight I coundn't even count anymore. And the horizon was very wobblie for a while after I pulled out.
