Solo

Took a while but I finally did it. Four landings with the instructor (screwed up the third so decided to do one more just for sure) and then three full stop taxi backs on my own. I was nervous at first and the first time around the pattern, to quote FlyingFireman from his solo thread, " "Holy crap, I better be able to land this thing."" sounds about right. After the first time I felt more confident and talking myself through the maneuvers really helped. Looking forward now to completing the rest of my training towards my PPL.:rawk:

Congrats!

I flew to BCT for my solo XC and did a touch and go. A beautiful area to fly in. I remember it was a very windy landing. Took all I had not to do a missed approach.

Let the real fun begin. The first time you head off by yourself to the practice area is when you really feel like a pilot.

Happy birthday and congrats on the solo! Thing flies great without that bonehead in the right seat, huh! :) My captains say that about me all the time! Oh... Wait...

Thanks guys! The solo was a great birthday present and I'm glad I finally got to do it. I appreciate all the knowledge all of you have helped me acquire over the years here at JC and I look forward to making more posts like this.

Thanks!

Edit: I don't want to keep on bumping this up by saying "thanks", so if anyone else says anything thanks in advance.
