So Du Page got shut down...

DPApilot

GUYSH! GUYSH! GUYSH!
while I was at work.
They said it was an "emergency" and didn't allow anyone but a V tail bonanza and an IFR 1900 in. So the A36 lands, goes to E1 and all of a sudden, a blackhawk comes on the radio, twr instructs him to land on Echo and go to E1, military guy with a m16 get out and a bunch of people in cars block the exit from the hanger and apprehend the people

Damn.

it's probably drugs or else busting something.

judging by the way they were apprehended and the airplane was searched, and that the blackhawk (one flew over the ap about an hour after the apprehension) was still on Echo 2 hours later, im guessing drugs?

They were pretty tight-lipped when we went over to fuel the Blackhawk, so it's pretty much speculation at this point what happened. It was a Customs helicopter, so probably not a TFR violation.

I guess we'll just keep our ear to the ground on the news and maybe they'll break a story for us.

If it was diverted to DPA, it probably wouldn't be on this system, and it's hard to mistake a 35 for a 36. That flightaware track was for a V35. It might not have a departure point if the clearance was pick-up enroute (air file, etc). Also, it landed before Menard's 1900. If DPA closed after the 35, then the 1900 would hold or divert.

My bad, typing on my iPhone haha

Tower said it was closed, but they allowed a few IFR's in, and even after the blackhawk landed, they let the 1900 depart, they let one of our cessna's in, but made our arrow circle outside. they said the airport was closed because something about an emergency/incident on the feild...

Also, Thats crazy yu got to fuel it up man!
What time did it leave?

On Flight Aware, it looks like this airplane spends a lot of time in South Florida, South Texas, and Southern Arizona. Hmmm....and it was a customs UH-60. I would bet it was a drug thing.

Don't forget Puerto Rico too. :)

I got there at 2030, and they called for fuel shortly after I got there.

*ring*

"DuPage Flight Center"
"Yes, we need to be topped off with JetA, so could you send the fuel truck over?"
"I would be happy to, sir. But who are you and where are you on the field?"
*slight pause* (I think he was surprised I didn't know who was calling)
"We're N-number XXXXX, a UH-60B over by Echo 1, and we're going to need around 1600 gallons." (I was impressed as I didn't think a UH-60 could HOLD 1600 gallons. It turned out, obviously, that he was looking for about 1600 pounds.)
"I'll send them over..."

It wasn't until a little later that I found out more details like the airport shut down, and that it wasn't an National Guard Blackhawk doing training as they do sometimes in the summer.

Usually it is around 100-200 gallons... A chinook may take 1600 gallons though.

man, that wouldve been awesome if you got to fuel it up!

sure beats filling 172SS up, eh?

Fun fact: The Chinook can hold 1068 gallons of fuel. It can also carry three extended range tanks holding an extra 800 gallons each.
