Snoring

I have been told I snore really loud and in any position. However, I don't wake up in the middle of the night nor am I fatgued in the morning or throughout the day.

Do those mouthgaurds on TV really work? The ones that claim to hold your lower jaw forward?

If I have this investigated further by a doc, am I putting my medical at risk? Just wondering if it could be something simple like my Tonsils or Adenoids?

Doug's having the same problem. He feels completely refreshed in the morning too whereas i'm just dragging because i'm a really light sleeper and it keeps me awake.

I can have him turn over 3 or 4 times in the night and sometimes that'll kick it but other than that, i'm considering sleeping in the guest room or vice versa.

I've thought about having him get it checked out too but also unsure of the medical situation and thinking if he loses a titch of weight, it'll dissipate (i've seen the correlation between weight and snoring with him before so i know it would probably disappear).

Weight is an issue. If you get down to lean body mass, the snoring usually goes away (and you can get into the cockpit easier:laff:). The surgical stuff really does not work. If symptoms persist, a sleep study might be indicated. Sleep apnea is a Special Issuance process.

I guess Doug sleeps on the couch more often now:)

My dad has been snoring INSANELY loud for years. I moved home about a month ago and he has been trying the puresleep mouthguard/thingy. It works. I used to know when I got home late that he and the mom were out because he would be sawing logs at the dB level of a gas powered chainsaw. This was through the door and down the stairs and I still heard him. Now, I have to be quite when I get home late because I can't hear him snoring anymore at all. It seems to work really well. He bought me one to use but I haven't used it more than a couple of times. I keep spitting it out when i'm sleeping. He said he did that for a while, but now it stays in and, like I said, I can't hear him snoring anymore. YMMV

My dad had the same problem till he starting wearing those breathe right strips that hold your nose open and he doesn't snore at all now. Might want to try it.
