Many in the US are worried with the trend of 500 hr wonders flying around near the speed of sound with 50 souls in the back.

Here's what you get in Korea with a 300hr wonder who has 250 lives in their hands:clap:

Do you ever give it a rest?

Did you know that most Asian Companies keep there 300 hr pilot in a year of ground school after their ratings apposed to the 3 weeks they do here in the US? Did you also know that most Asian Companies have their 300hr F/O's sit in the J/S for another year observing before they go play gear jockey?

Looks like that would have been pretty uncomfortable from the back. Regardless of how much jumpseat/right seat time they get with a babysitter in the left, 300 hrs is still just barely enough to be dangerous, especially with an aircraft like this. Sorry if that hurts some low hour pilot's egos, but as one of you, I know my experience and my limitations......at the very least, hopefully they do too. As a passenger, I don't know how much I want anyone at the controls during critical phases of flight who has less than 1000 hrs of experience. As an added bonus, it would be REALLY ideal if most of those 1000 hrs were in something with some sort of meaningful performance, vice light piston or utility turboprop time. Just my .02

I don't think that was the smoothest 777 landing ever, I've seen it land much smoother than that before. That one looked very rough, in fact.

Says the 700-hour wonder.

I saw a Korean 777 do a hard landing here at LAS a few years ago. I counted 4 bounces. The winds were calm.

Horrible. That looked like a PIO to me. It could happen to a 300hr pilot, or a 15,000 hr pilot. But, more likley to happen to a 300hr pilot. No amount of jumpseating/ground school can make up for experince at the controls.

Whats a PIO?
