So I finally recieved my temporary certificate as well as that fancy certificate they give you to frame and hang on the wall. (or to use as toilet paper
) It says "Commercial Pilot/Instrument Airplane-SMEL" on it.
What the heck is SMEL? Shouldn't it be AMEL; Airplane-multi engine- land? If it were a screw up and I were seaplane rated that would be AMES. Am I just having a brain fart here, or is it a special UND designation or something like "single and multi-engine land"?
