Skywest...

This news?

Earlier today, your MEC notified SkyWest of its intent not to pursue further discussions on amending our Scope or Holding Letter. While we don't know if this will be the end of all discussions with SkyWest, we have no further plans to meet to discuss these issues at this time.

No problem, just funny to watch how fast word travels on-line. ;) How's the new job treating you?

Fantastic...

It is pretty funny. I've already received 4 text messages and one email from Jetlinkers and I don't even work there anymore.

While I had assumed that was going to be the outcome, it's good to hear that the MEC did the right thing.

All we need, I think, is SKYW to prove to the xjet pilots (by accepting our current scope of giving us a new one) that the xjet pilots will be protected, and this isn't just a ploy to get the airframes, dump the ALPA pilots, and throw cheap new hires in our jets.

If that is the plan then SKYW will walk away from the deal if the union sticks to its guns. People might say that "the union is forcing xjet into BK by blocking the deal", but if SKYW wont give us any protection we're all out on the streets anyways.

I don't see this as the end for the XJT SKYW deal. It's apparent CAL doesn't want XJT management in the driver's seat and will do what it takes to remove them - CAL has that poison pill and I can't imagine them stopping their efforts at this point.

I can easily see CAL slowly moving flying to SKYW once CHQ pulls out their CRJ aircraft within the coming months and ultimately putting the next 51 jets under the SKYW banner.

While I see this as a very positive sign for the XJT pilot group in a sense they stood their ground, I do not see this as a positive for ExpressJet Holdings and their future.

I really hope this kills the deal.... Keep Skywest My Skywest.
Either way some Xjt guys are going to the street unfortunately.

You can have "your" Skywest and their 90 seaters for 50 seat rates. 3 more dollars for 50 extra people. Awesome.
