To all the CASS enabled folks out there, be aware that some gate agents from multiple stations are still confused on a recent change regarding the use of the jumpseat. In particular the concept of 'cabin' jumpseating. If you check in for a SkyWest jumpseat and are told no because they only allow 'one' jumpseater even though there are seats in the back...they are dead wrong. (this all stemmed from a change of the flight attendant js policy)
Ask if you can talk to the captain or get our attention through the window if they are not playing nice. I try to come to the gate during every turn and specifically ask about jumpseaters and I believe others are getting into this habit as well.
To be clear, we do indeed have unlimited cabin jumpseats, so don't let a confused gate agent tell you otherwise.
