What are the changes of basing in CA after training. Or are all CA bases senior. Can anyone tell me the Jr CA base and upgrade time.

I seem to remember one of my very newly-minted SkyWest FO friends is on the Bro out of Fresno. I think he's off reserve, too now. Hired in...March or April.

I heard Fresno as well for the Junior base. Why do you ask pjk? I am gonna be on the October 3rd Brasilia class.

With regard to the EMB. . . . Fresno is the most junior Cali base; at least as far as the Brasilia is concerned. New hires are also going to Palm Springs and a few even trickle into Salt Lake and LAX. With the current movement within the company I think Fresno EMB F/O's are getting lines fairly fast. I'm not looking at the list right now, but I think most guys getting Fresno EMB captain awards are at least around 4 years senority. In the past it was much more junior than that. For example I upgraded on the EMB into Fresno with 18 months senority, but that was nearly six years ago. IMO I think you will see faster upgrade times over the next few years. The jet goes much more senior in all California bases.

just the answer I was looking for thanks a million.

How senior is SFO?
Yeah, you gonna make the jump from the "INC" side to the SkyWest side? :)

For the EMB SFO is a super small base. 4 capt/4 F/O's and all reserve only.

SFO is also an RJ base. With a mix of normal lines and reserve. Around 60 - 70 crew members total. The F/O side looks pretty junior with some of the guys at less than a year senority. Captains look to be at least 7 years.

If you are going to the bro very good. In fact I would just try to get comfortable in FAT on the bro. Upgrade is around 5 years with another year or two to hold a line on the turboprop. Junior jet is the furthest east bases. Current upgrade is six years with that number increasing a year every year, so technically never for a new hire.

Anybody have an update to the original topic of this thread? Things started moving a bit more at Skywest? Current hiring plans for the near future? Any updates are appreciated Thanks

Things have slowed way down. A buddy who has a recommendation from me is currently on a waitlist to get interviewed in April for a pool. Straight from the horses mouth.

Classes every month... It's not that slow. I just moved up 15 spots in the past 3 weeks, so people are obviously leaving to go somewhere.

Lots of movement in FAT right now for the EMB FOs. A lot of us are leaving for transitions over the next couple of months (I'm outta here in a few weeks for a CRJ transition).
