Did the jumpers file to come down through that cloud deck? I didn't know you could do a localizer approach with a parachute...
 
I don't know what to think about this one. I know there have been plenty of jumps planned with permission to catch a picture such as this one. The people I used to do some flying with did it several times. The thing that has me wondering is whether or not the shuttle would go up in such an overcast layer such as this one.

When I was there for a night shuttle launch they said they needed at least 5000ft ceilings. Unfortunately it happened to be one of the few nights that Florida had a constant low overcast layer.
 
I could see this happening at Vandenburg. KLPC is right next door, and we do get a funk of marine layer up that way all the time. And KLPC has a jump plane, and they advertise for skydiving.
