SKW pay proposal

I heard something along the lines of this:

1% base increase to -200 rates
5% further increase for a -700/900 override
No increase for Bro pilots
No retro pay
Override is only paid for actual 700/900 flight time (a couple exceptions) and will only be paid IF you break daily AND monthly guarantee.
4 year "duration"

Could someone who actually sees the printed version tomorrow post what it says? Mucho Gracias

Proposal doesn't hit the street till tomorrow ... unless you have inside gouge somehow. SAPA e-mail didn't even have specifics ...

but if this is really the proposal I think you're gonna see a lot of p/o'd folks. This is NO where even close to what the "proposal" was three months ago ... considering what else is going on right now methinks this could do more harm than good (from a mgmt perspective).

In other words FTW!?

I think that's a misprint, no way SGU would offer a 5% override. Rumors I heard were 1.35% raise for the 70/90. For 5% I'd bid the jet right now.

Oh, and what proposal 3 months ago? You mean the 1.2% across the board with no end-date, CL-65 type pay rate, proposal? That's the last one I saw. It was a turd and should have been voted down.

Sadly, I may consider voting yes this time. Not because I think this proposal has merit, but because our representative system is completely ineffective and I think we need to take what we can get. On principle, I think it is important for us to send a message to our managment when we are displeased, in this case, though, I think our moral outrage falls on not only deaf, but indifferent ears.

p.s. Anyone surprised by a sub-par proposal from SGU at this point either has superhuman powers of optimism, or gold-fish memory.

I agree I think it's misinformation (has anyone seen the proposal yet for real?) But the "proposal" I was talking about was this one (7/28/06):

Zoltar
1) 2 hour Short-Call for all domiciles for reserve pilots
2) Establish a 12 hour Long-Call for reserve pilots
3) Max 18 duty days per bid period, i.e. 12-13 days off for all pilots
4) 4:10 Minimum Daily Guarantee for all pilots
5) Establish a Minimum Staffing Level Requirement formula coupled with monetary incentives, i.e.
150% pay above 87 hrs, if the average credit per domicile with PBS is above 90 hours at the
beginning of the bidding process.
6) Establish a reserve list transparency able to be seen by all pilots, i.e. any pilot will be able to
see the current reserve staffing levels system wide and at each domicile.

Pay Proposal TA:
1) 2% immediate raise across the board
2) Split rates between CRJ 200 & the CRJ 700/900 Captain & FO rates (only thing actually "accomplished")
3) CRJ 700/900 rate equal to ASA’s CRJ700 rate
4) EMB 120 rate instead of Turbo Prop rate
5) COLA (Cost Of Living Adjustments) of 2%/ yr starting 1/08 thru 1/09
6) First Year FO rate all aircraft of $23

Yeah SAPA is awesome. :sarcasm:

Well there is another vote out there that might get them to stand up and take notice ...

So I'm told. I just *can't believe they completely snubbed the Bro. Of course it falls completely in line with the attitude in SLC that it's a second-rate nuisance ...

* and by "can't believe" I mean I'm surprised they didn't include a pay cut for the Bro (which in reality it IS a pay cut ... especially if they lower the monthly guarantee to 75 as was alluded to in the PBS survey). Ya know they complain they can't get anyone to upgrade on the Bro and that's because they make life on the Bro (comparatively speaking) so hard (schedule and pay wise) that it makes NO sense to stay on it.

Really? How so? I would think people would be jumping on the opportunity to upgrade at 6-8 months. I can't say I haven't thought about making the jump. They pay is more then you'd make as an FO on the jet. Why aren't people taking the upgrade?

Because upgrade is not everything.

Not necessarily ...

Note of warning about check airmen.

Sometimes the company will use them to float "trial balloons" out to the pilot group to gauge sentiment about a topic.

Really? That's interesting! On this issue he wasn't because it's my sim instructor and he told us last night since the pay proposal is out today. Some of the numbers might be off such as the 1% ATB increase might be a 1.35% ATB increase, but the details I posted are well within the ballpark.

GA, sorry for doubting you. I'm afraid my pessimism is getting the best of me. I hope your info is correct. That's a pretty substantial raise for the 700-900. I hope it works out that way.

The proposal just came out. It's pretty much what was posted with some minor changes:

-New Hire pay to increase as follows (GET READY FOR THE MONEY!!!)
----$19.25 for 2007
----$19.50 for 2008
----$19.75 for 2009
----$20.00 for 2010

-1% base increase to -200 rates

-700/900 "Block Hour Override" applied to the increased -200 rate
----5% for 2007
----6% for 2008
----7% for 2009
----8% for 2010

-BHO is only paid for actual 700/900 flight time
----This means that the override is not applied to "soft time." When you break it down, this means for every hour of -700/900 credit you add 3______ ----minutes to it(5% override X 60 minutes = 3 minutes). That 1 hour and 3 minutes is then applied to your -200 base rate. This is how BHO is paid.

-No increase for Bro pilots
-No retro pay
-4 year "duration"

So happy our internal negotiations have been posted on jc for the public to view before i can even get it from my mailbox.:sarcasm:

Because upgrade is not everything.

No it's not, again why are people not wanting to upgrade? Is it lack of commutability? Pay (although the CA's are making $45/hr in the EMB and $35/hr in the jet, even with soft time I would think the EMB CA's come out ahead)? Hassle? "Un-coolness" to fly a prop? Crappy base choices? Inquiring minds want to know. I know a similar situtaion existed here when the 328's were around, upgrade got down to the sub-2 month time frame because people wanted to stay away from the prop and fly the jet, but the jet FO's pay came really close if not above the 328 CA pay.

I've probably had two opportunities to upgrade in the last 9-and-something-or-rather years at Southernjets.

I valued seniority and "life control" a lot higher than adding a fourth stripe and more cash that I wouldn't be home to spend.

That's just my rationale. Others certainly have their own rationale.

Those would be the end result of internal negotiations.

Don't act so uppity

I read it on here before I got the email . . .and we still have the vote coming up.

Ah yes I understand. But just how much senority could someone with 6 months on property actually have :D!

I have been on for four months and am bidding 33 out of 54. My QOL is already much better than most junior CA's. . . .just to answer your question ;)
