A copy of a question that I tacked on the end of my post in the general forums. This may be a better spot for it!
So in the mean time I am looking at a few different schools in the area I may be moving to (close to Chicago Executive).
Found a school there that seemed very ok and I thought I could save some money on the Private by fly the 152. 152 goes for I believe $74 on the tach. I was getting excited, until I discovered their instructor rates.
$55/hr, $65/hr, $75/hr......................HOLY SHIZNIT!
I could not believe it! Then I asked around and found out that the instructors start at about $15/hr and get a $2/hr increase every 90 days. Seems like they are getting the shaft, big time. I may be wrong but this seems crazy!
So the search continues. Anyone have any info on Skill Aviation out of Waukegan?
Chicago Executive would be about 10 to 15 miles from where we may move, Skill about 45. I just can't swallow that price for an instructor, especially for what they are getting paid!
