Yes, that is the one, have you heard of anyone completing
the program and any of its students getting jobs, or any first hand knowledge about the program.

thanks.

But John, you forget...

FO programs aren't usually the best option. This program isn't a great idea because it's Carvan time...if you have to buy time then get some ME. What is your TT, and how much ME do you have? Do you have your CFI certs?

It's not a program, it's job stealing. You now have one of two options:

1. Post a question about Gulfstream Academy's First Officer program in the general topics forum.

2. Save yourself the trouble and everyone elses time and do a little research on Gulfstream's operation in this forum. Gulfstream does the same thing as these guys.

Good luck, and choose wisely.

Cheers

besides its career prostitution. You are whoring yourself out by paying to get a job that should be a earned, paid postion by someone who is qualified.

These places will just make you a glorfield landing gear operator anyway.

BTW isnt the caravan a single pilot aircraft anyway?

Listen,
I've know about Gulfstream and different feelings that goes along with that name, I just simply ask if anyone had any first hand knowledge about Silver Express. If you do not, either don't reply or say that you don't. No need to get bent out of shape, slow your roll.

Also, since the Caravan is fixed gear, I guess you can't even pull the gear. Automatic seat warmer would seem to be the extent of the job duties.

Person's resume will include flying for a major international courier operation

[/ QUOTE ]

Haha....how ya gonna explain that one at a REAL job interview? "Ahhh, yes sir, I was working for DHL, you know, the major international courier while only having 300 hrs total time..ah, honest!

"Well, I wasn't really working for them since I wasn't being paid even though money was exchanged, but I was flying for them. Ummmm...Okay, I wasn't really the PIC nor was I even the SIC since one isn't required in that type of aircraft or operation. However, I logged it all as PIC anyway since a gray area in the regs allow me to do so and now...here I am!" "I'm sorry sir, don't let what hit me in the @ss on the way out..?"

What this company is actually hiring you to do is to help the real PIC load and unload the airplane between stops in order to help expedite the company's, and PIC's, on-time performance. In exchange, they allow you to sit on your hands and warm the right seat while the REAL PIC makes sure you don't touch anything that might get him killed. And for that, you get to pay them $12,000!

Oh, but those pictures of the Caribbean beaches sure are purdy. Too bad you'll be sleeping in the day time to see them nor will you have any money to enjoy them.

Stay as far away from these outfits as possible! They will suck your bank account dry and then spit you out the door to make room for the next starry-eyed wannabe with money to burn. They'll have you believe their way is the only way to achieving your future goals. Their slick brochures and sales pitches are designed to entice the young, uninformed or those just looking for a short cut to becoming a professional pilot. This scam has been around for a long time. Some folks just have to learn the hard way.

Bro, I've got some bad news for you: if you can't put together that this is the same kind of outfit as Gulfstream, and you will get the same results then you've got some serious learnin' to do.

Just tryin' to help keep ya outta trouble.

Ummm I think the fact that your actually considering this program just goes to show pilots are truly their own worst enemies.

What's the matter here?

You guys have some sort of problem with Caravan SIC time?

chuck,

why dont you just do the traditional way of working your way up, 1. get your ratings. 2. flight instruct.

There is nothing wrong with doing it this way, remember alot of places out there are selling the latest snake oil get-to-the-top-quicker stuff. Remember there are no shortcuts in aviation.

sure if you do this program learn the following expressions you will need to know.

Gullable pilot hearing about how he can steal someones job for "only" $12,000-$14,000 ---->

"The man" after gullable pilot writes him a check ->

"The man" after enjoying the days off on his boat he bought from gullable pilots $12,000 ----->

Gullable pilot after realizing he has to eat the lent out of his pocket because he just blew his life savings on worthless single engine time ---->

Gullable pilot after realizing the time he bought was totally worthless and the interviewers laugh him out of the interview

feel free to ask more questions if you need any clarifications. My advice will only cost you $25/hour.. you will save a lot of money that way

Cosmo, thanks for the reply. Now that is substance with lol. What I plan on doing is going to Ari-ben for the pro-course. I'm 95% sure that I will give flight instrucion a shot, but I was just asking questions to see if anyone had any first hand experince at some other places. I know that PFT is hot topic for some, but just mentioning it and it seems like people are ready to chop you freakin head off. For the most part I think that I going to build my time with Ari-ben. Any comments?

Be nice.
