Shoe Ideas?

I am looking for comfortable shoes that I will need for work. A lot of people I know have the slip on slip off type of shoes. Not sure how they would work though getting in and out of the plane in the snow and rain in the Northeast in the winter. Any one have an online shop I can get a good pair of shoes? What do u all recommend? My shoe size is a 14 so they would need to have the larger sizes.

Deer Stags. They're cheap, comfortable, have a medium-thickness sole so they're decent for walking around in snow and whatnot, and will not set off any metal detectors. They look pretty plain, won't win you any style points but who cares. They cost about 40 bucks.

Most chain shoestores have them, payless, etc. I've had mine for 8 or 9 months now and have been pretty happy. Size 14 shouldn't be an issue. Just an idea.

Bill got his at the uniform store in ATL. They're glycol-friendly, and have a composite shank (no beeping at security). I have no idea what brand they are though. I'll ask him though.

I'd go with Deer Stags. They run me about $40 and seem to last 1.5 years or so with typical all-season airline employee abuse. Not all Deer Stags are airport friendly, so make sure the ones you get are (the airport-friendly ones have a yellow rectangle on the heel). I wear them all the time.

If you want something more costly, Johnston & Murphy sells airport-friendly shoes for about $180 that may last longer, but I don't know many FOs that can swing that kind of budget.

I do highly recommend airport-friendly; taking them off EVERY DAY will get really old really fast.

Since I have to get in to my full buisness type suit up here every month for Drama tournaments, I recommend Rockports. I got a really good pair at Nordstroms(the only place I can shop) for about $90. They are good in alost every weather condition. They have been tested by me

I've got a pair of Docker shoes that are airport friendly. I've also owned a pair of the Deer Stags the others are talking about. Both are good shoes that have never gone off going through security. Keep in mind for those not in uniform, most security points will have you remove your shoes or suffer additional screening wether or not your shoes go off through the detector.

Hear hear! Corcorans, Kiwi, a old terry cloth towel, and a spritzer bottle of water for that little sumpn' extra. Skivy shirts work well too though...

Seriously- I'd go for standard MilSpec 5 hole oxfords. Cheap, durable, and hold a shine like they should.
