I actually know plenty of guys making $100,000+ flying airplanes with only a HS diploma. Not inaccurate at all!
Yes but exactly how many of them are actually at a major? That median would shift quite a bit if they only took a sample of HS only peeps as most would likely max out at regional captain pay.I actually know plenty of guys making $100,000+ flying airplanes with only a HS diploma. Pretty typical of Yahoo articles there might be some truth but by and large they are misleading at best. Although I do know a guy I used to work with as a mechanic at NWA he became a pilot at NWA and is now a Delta MD-88 Capt and does not have a college degree. Can be done but for the most part unless you want to stay at the regional level as a pilot better get that degree..
We all know, however, that not all jobs that pay $100k+ are major airlines. While someone trying to get on at a Legacy without a degree would (right now) probably not get a call, there are a slew of other options. It's best to get the degree of course, but most of the guys I know making that kind of change without a degree are left seat at a certain ACMI carrier I no longer work for.Yes but exactly how many of them are actually at a major?
