Just got this email response from a training manager..........


"I just received an update that the hiring numbers nationwide are currently
under review. No one knows at this time if we will get any additional
quota or not. The September CSP may not happen. We are all just waiting
to hear."



Take it for what it is.........but that's a training mgr of a large center. My guess is that NATCA contract negotiations are coming into play here.

if they're planning on taking on 13+ thousand controllers, the only thing that would otherwise slow the process would have to be budget/contract matters.

I was told earlier today that it was a budget/contract matter. I think the vote is at the end of this month. I will try to get more info tonight and I will post whatever news I hear . I'm hoping everything will continue as scheduled.

The arbitrators are required to submit their decision tomorrow. They will then need to brief congress, Natca, etc. and then the results will be released to the general public (us). There's an e-mail pasted from a FAC rep on SM that states we should know on the 10th.

I was told the results will be made public at 1:15pm Eastern time. That time has come and gone. I'm not sure if the info is out yet. I am just waiting to here back from a friend of mine. I'm pretty sure the info will be posted all over the forum once everything is made public. We shall see.

well the results of the contract negotiations is being discussed with NATCA today. so i guess when Pat posts on the union board we'll know more about these panels.

The contract isn't going to have any real effect on the upcoming panels. Hiring needs will stay the same, and while a change in contract will certainly help morale, mandatory retirement's still coming down on a lot of people.
