Seen enough of Lufthansa for awhile

Well, I just returned from a 30-day deployment working the ramp across 7L-25R and 7R-25L from Frankfurt Intl. I've definately received enough viewing dosage of Lufthansa to last me quite awhile.

I was able to experience the ATA L1011 and World Airways MD-11.

It was actually the first time I saw Northwest's and United's new livery, although United usually had planes with the older livery coming in.

In all my worldly travels, one thing remains certain -- "There's no place like home"

I used to spend a lot of time in CGN. First couple of days way okay but by the end of the week I was ready to not be in Germany anymore. Now, Oslo and Copenhagen were a completely different story.....

SORRY you had to experience the World and ATA. I have probably traveled alot on the same planes. It seems like they would always get the military bid, im sure they were the cheapest. I would be on my way to the desert, and of course they would all say;" your on vacation with ATA". I hated that, just say," your screwed"

OH yeah chicken or beef?

These days it's "Chicken or Pasta?"

I usually get the Pasta which usually is pretty decent. World I know does a lot of charter work. ATA was going, which most of the pax I believe were going to "points beyond".

My flight going was delayed two hours due to mechanical problems, which sucked because it wasn't until we boarded, seated, and as comfortable as we could get when they told us we needed to deplane . . .

. . . then my return trip was delayed 24-hours due to maintenance problems.

The deployment itself was enjoyable, during downtime I was able to make it to the small, rural town my family lived in during the mid-1960s when my grandfather was stationed at Hahn AB
