A camera on board Rob Weber's small airplane captured the moment a bird shattered his windshield at 170 mph.

That was really fast. From the camera view it looks like the bird wasn't even visible until it hit.

HOLY HELL.

Hope he wasn't cut up too bad, that's some scary stuff.

That airport is 25 nm west of my airport so the story was on our local news. The on camera interview showed him only having a small scratch on his forehead.

I stand corrected, our local news reported it occuring near the Pahokee (PHK) airport, hence why it was on our local news. However, it appears that he landed at Fort Myers (FMY). I can't imagine him flying the 60 miles between the too, but then again he is in an Arrow that cruises at 170mph.

"Apparently he was wearing an Angry Birds t-shirt." From the morning breakfast lady at the Holiday Inn in Jasper, TX.

Still landed on the 1000 footers and on centerline! As Stuart Scott would say, "Ron Weber, as cool as the other side of the pillow...BOOYAH!!"
