Second Lesson Today!!

Today was my second lesson towards my PPL! All I can say is that I love everything about it. My instructor is really cool....easygoing, calm, he sure knows what he is doing up there. Today we worked on the basics: climbs, descents, and intro to stalls. I love the stalls, both power-on and off. Also today we worked on x-wind landings. Where I live on the cent. coast of California we get some really strong winds around 3:00pm. I got to experience some interesting landings.

The only difficulties i am having now is trying to keep the aircraft on centerline when taxying. I seem to always drift off the side and overcorrect to get back on centerline. Any suggestions? On a better note, my instructor said I am excellent on radio communications, and its only my second lesson! I think its great how everyone calls you "sir". However I did make a slight mistake today when i requested takeoff clearance on the ground frequency.

All in all, im loving my lessons. I hope this enthusiasm lasts all the way towards the end, given that the money lasts to the end too. Thanks for all your replies in advance!

COngrats. I was having centerline problems when I first started off. I told my instructor to take less pressure of his side of the pedals and it did the trick. I was having trouble pressing the pedals smoothly because I had to push his stiff legs as well. Anyway good luck with the training. Remember if you start getting stressed. Just ask the instructor if you gonna take a lesson and just fly around. it brings the joy back.

I too had trouble keeping the plane on centerline, I think that we all did/do. It is just very akward to steer with your feet, but you will get used to it in no time. Have fun in your lessons.
