Well my company canceled the x-mas party this year. Had been planned for a while now, but due to budget tightening i guess they decided it was unneeded. Small cost, really not going to make or break the company, but it was scrubbed. We were given the option of paying for it ourselves or plannng something else out, aka cheaper.

So, it appears my company is no different then any other out there. "Virgin Touch" my ass

we had that happen last year at my company.. took away the xmas party and our bonus's! we found out that we will get an xmas party this year (albiet small ice rink thingy) but again, no bonus's....

i'm sure the uppers will get their checks though!

Mesa's already announcing their Holiday Party. Kiss my arse if you think I'm going to attend. 0 for 5, baby!

Actually, no. My crews know from the first hour of the trip that we're going to have fun. However, I am not an optimist, I am a realist and do not sugar-coat reality. If it sucks, I'll tell you it sucks. I have a management background and know how things can be when the upper brass actually cares. We do not have that at MAG, not even close.

The overwhelming majority of pilots at MAG refuse to attend any company-sponsored event. We have the most management friendly contract in the world, and it's abused on a daily basis. Why celebrate the fact that you get screwed over on a weekly basis. Treat us with respect, we'll attend. Otherwise, sorry Charlie.

A hospital that I used to work anounced that instead of having the Christmas Party at a very nice hotel but offering everyone free lunch. What a frelling joke!!! Well, a bunch of us got together and had our own party. It wasn't expensive, about 35 per person, full catering. Just a thought for you highspeed to get together with yoru co workers and have your own party!!!

Company Xmas parties bite anyway.

The last one I went to was at my previous airline and it was a great time. But the Deejay kept playing punk music and with a bunch of 20-somethings in the room, it being 1996 and lots of fresh barley-beverage flowing, we had a tendency to mosh.

Now "moshing", continued employment and company parties aren't compatible so it got a little "interesting".
