Schedule patterns

Could you guys post some schedule patterns and the airline you work at please.

At Surf Air, we are currently 4 on 4 off, and the DO is thinking about doing something different.

I have patterns for American, SWA and Hawaiian. Would be interested in getting info from supplemental carriers that might work 4 on 4 off to support my position.

Thanks,
Brian

Western Global Airlines works 4 on, 4 off - 12 hr shifts.

Alaska has 4-on 4-off 10 hour shift rotations and 8 hour shifts in 5-on 3-off, 5-on 3-off, 5-on 4-off rotations.

My schedule has so many variations and weird rules it's kind of hard to describe. Just under 1900 hours per year, though, so however you slice that up. Mostly 8 hour shifts in my office. A 4 on/4 off 12 hour shift schedule, if I'm figuring correctly, works out to 2190 hours per year which seems a bit on the high end to me (although that number doesn't include vacations or floating holidays.) So, if your DO is saying that you have "too many days off" you could ask him why you're working almost 2200 hours a year while a traditional 40 hour work week comes out to 2080 hours per year (once again, not including any vacations or holidays.)

My current company works 4 on 3 off 3 on 4 off 12 hr shifts. most supp carriers use 4 on 4 off 12 hrs. you could go 4 on 3 off set schedules like most domestic/flag groups do.

We're only doing 9.5 - 10 hours right now, so the guys are working 1820-1850 hours, and getting paid for 2080. Of course, we do have a reduced PTO policy because of the work schedule, and I don't think he is taking that into account.

There is no easy solution. The problem becomes if we go hourly pay to maintain the current schedule, that would result in people getting paid less. Then you need to offer a higher hourly rate. We are in Los Angeles California.

Every time someone attempts to create a dispatcher schedule aiming at 2080 hour parity it makes my head assplode. Stop. Just stop. You cannot create 2080 parity with a logical shift schedule. This is not a 9 to 5 job.

It was based on the flying schedule. We didn't fly on Sundays. You worked 40 hours over the course of a Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, took a day off, and then worked the next 40 hours on a Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. The takeaway is that we worked 6 days out of 14.

At Delta, we have 3 patterns, approx 1,830 hrs / yr :

4/3, 4/4 - 9hr days (relief lines)
5/4 - 9 hrs
4/4 - 10 hr days (all the old people have these)

When the boss says he's thinking about making a change, that means he is looking to increase productivity/lower costs. In my opinion, if you walk into his office talking about Southwest and American schedule patterns, he's going to dismiss what you say without any further thought. And he'd be right to do it. If you want to be taken seriously, then you've got to present what his competitors are doing, and then show how what he/you are doing is better. By better, I mean, more productive/less costly. In other words, make a business case for whatever it is you're going to propose.

For the morning and afternoon shifts, we run 5/3 9-hour shifts. The overnight folks work 5/5 9-hour shifts. That overnight gig is nice and actually helps with resetting your circadian rhythm.

***ETA; We're a 121 domestic/flag with very similar operations to Omni and Atlas.***
